Halal Restaurants in Montreal: My Go-To Spots

This is my first Montreal vlog, and I featured a few of my go-to halal restaurants. I also showed how I make my coffee at home. Here are the spots, with addresses, so you can plan your own day out.

Where I ate and explored

Always check opening hours before you go, since they change by season.

  • Poissonnerie & Restaurant Rayan (Rayan St-Laurent)

A market-style seafood restaurant. You choose at the counter and tell them how you want it cooked. Rayan has several locations around Montreal, and I went to Saint-Laurent. We really enjoyed the food.

    📍 1114 Boulevard Marcel-Laurin, Saint-Laurent, QC H4R 1J7
  • Pâtisserie Mahrousé

Making Middle Eastern sweets in Montreal since 1970, when a pastry chef from Aleppo opened the first shop. Baklava, semolina shortbread, loukoum, and other honey-soaked treats, plus a café area where you can sit with a coffee.

    📍 9705 Boulevard de l'Acadie, Montréal, QC H4N 1K5
  • Gunaydin

A Turkish grill known for kebabs, lahmacun, and a big breakfast spread. A good pick for a group or a family meal. I have been here for their breakfast and enjoyed it. I usually get their filet mignon.

    📍 2215 Boulevard Marcel-Laurin, Saint-Laurent, QC H4R 1K4
  • ICQ Mosque (Islamic Centre of Quebec)

Whenever I'm in the area, this is my go-to mosque to catch my prayers on time. The women's section is upstairs. For Jummah, they usually open extra space upstairs for men, so the women go up the stairs on the right and then up to the second floor.

    📍 2520 Chemin Laval, Saint-Laurent, QC H4L 3A1
  • Marché des Jardiniers, La Prairie

Just 15 minutes from Montreal on the South Shore. Seasonal produce, bread and pastries, flowers, cheese, and a covered terrace. It is open from early May to October, so go soon if you want fall views before the season ends.

    📍 1200 Chemin de Saint-Jean, La Prairie, QC J5R 2L7

My morning coffee routine

My day always started the same way: a fresh espresso from my Breville Barista Touch. It's my favorite part of the routine, and it's what got me out the door to explore.
